Our Experience

Bright Employment previously ran a hospitality-training program in Auburn in partnership with The Salvation Army from July 2014 to April 2015. We delivered a 6-week commercial kitchen-training program to 65 migrant students over the 10-month period.

Students initially undertook 2-weeks of kitchen theory training at Bright’s classroom facilities in Auburn, which was delivered by our executive chef and trainer Ty Bellingham. Bright established a ‘community kitchen’ at The Salvation Army’s Auburn centre, with students delivering a 3-course lunchtime meal (soup, a hot main meal and dessert) to ~60 local community members 4 days per week. Many of these meals were provided free to local asylum seekers or health care cardholders.

This valuable experience has helped build the foundation of our existing and future programs as a platform for helping many hundreds more people.

From September 2015 to June 2016, Bright Hospitality delivered a Certificate 2 in Commercial Cleaning (CPP20611) inside the commercial kitchen at Wesley Mission in Surry Hills. Over the duration of this program, almost 75% of our graduates secured meaningful employment at the completion of their 6 week training program.

In June 2016 we upgraded the training program to a Certificate 2 in Hospitality (SIT20213), accredited by our RTO Partner, TAFE NSW.
